Under a singing moon...

Just to let you know that the Moonsong Caves store has had an expansion and a refit (with thanks to Flippa Stella of 'Flipside' for her assistance.)

Gone are the old -dD- lines, but instead is a (more or less) complete range of -dDx- styles, including all three of the Hair Fair 2010 styles; yesterday's newly released braids and more.

Backtracking in the name of progress

Common thing for me to look at my lines and thing "well I can do better than that..." and no surprises, I've started a periodic reshuffle of stock, replacing old stuff with new.

One of my primary areas of concern is the long open styles I sell... because, dear reader, they're textured badly, due to the way I tried to work them. well OK... it's not disastrous... just no longer representative of my ability... or I like to think so... So in the name of progress, and after a boot in the wazoo by Leknaart Timeless to make a new one; I did... This is Shurelia - Live now


This one replaces the old Miko line, which I was going to discount... and might... but I haven't quite yet. To be honest, I may sit it out until someone leans on me about it.

Also out is a replacement for Haruka and Ishi - a sculpted set of piggies using the old handle 'Boo'...


Note as well the switch to the new style "Series 4" vendor photos... Basically I decided "what the hell"... so they'll be cropping up around the store.

Iteration #04

New Zoe is now live... This is the FOURTH version of this style I've built, and this time I think I've got it. I love it... you'd have a hard job prising it off my head right now.

It's full of piratey goodness...

Was asked whether I would consider making a dreaded pirate style... well... I have.

It meant making 73 new textures, but that's all part of the territory; or you would have thought. It was, typically the first time I've made new textures since the store refit... but it went OK, and the result isn't awful! ;)



Oh... and in other news, I've decided to give away my next two styles to update group members, so you might want to consider joining. The first style, tentatively entitled "Paige" is nearing completion, and is a cute choppy feathered bob with a braided detail. The second, a men's do, will be tackled as and when I get teh first done.

Thirdly, I've expanded the Burns store from 4 to 10 beard styles. Worth a nose if you've not been quite yet!

Mainstore reshuffle commences

Just so you know, I'm playing with the layout over the next few days with the main store in an attempt to drop prims, space things out, decrease lag and free up the visuals so it no longer looks like a junkyard. I'll keep track of all the changes in this little bit here...

So far:

- Teleporters added and identified to all major locations: braids, beards, eyes, main entrance, discount area and coffee shop

- Braided styles replicated in new braids location - parcelled up to itself and advertised as such. Braids to be *removed* from main floor (the north building) as and when I've created signage

- Akira / Kaneda double pack scrapped. Nobody has bought a double since launch... so that's 46 prims I no longer need to house. Sorry guys

- Following styles removed from "full range" and sent to the Discount Hair area, selling only as tone and complete packs for 3 and 9 lindens respectively: Crista, Teri, Londo and Spike. Others to follow as demand for each style wains, and as I make new ones...

- Alice Hoyer has updated the dancefloor ball and finished off the concreting of the shop design... Thanks babe...

- Akira, Kaneda, Layla, Beth, Mai and Lorna relocated to improve the layout a little

Still to come

- SIGNAGE... I promise I'll sort this in due course

- reshuffling to regroup hair into ponytails, long loose styles, piggies, short female and short male styles. This will take a while, but it'll happen.

- Renovation party!

I dread to think...

Siren rework coming soon...

Despite everything I said yesterday, I've been busy; and have come up with this...



Outfit is "Remnant" from DE Designs, Skin is "NoSun Gray Makeup 2" from Ayiki @ Cre@ction. Eyes are "Alicia" from this random place called Discord Designs - currently on sale for a Linden. Earrings are the models own and not for sale; but seeing as I'm the model, if you're really interested, give me an IM in-world and we'll discuss it.

Just a matter of altering the band colorchange script to make it not clash with Xcite enabled "parts" and all will be good to go.

Out this week... or out tomorrow...

Hydra rework... Chimera / Hydra double... 1m dual ponytail (Alicia) and 2.5m dual pony (Felicia)... There will be a double pack for the duals, but I'm yet to get the photos I need... hence the delay in releasing them.

Developments, changes and the rest

Work continues apace on teh new shop. Alice has finished the build, good and proper, and it looks the business (if I do say so myself). I've recreated 31 style to launch in the new styles and colors - leaving just a few more to go before the new shop is likely to go live in early May.

Side-project wise, Jeela Juran of Boingo has done me proud by creating a "Judy Nails" top (see any online reference to Guitar Hero III) to go with a custom hair I'm creating (of the same).



Thanks Jeela... it is, in one word, STUNNING! :D

Hiccups...

I admit... I have a lot on my mind... and as you know by now, I build when distracted, as anything requiring some degree of methodical work goes awry... The latest style is no exception.

I launched one I've not even mentioned before - Anna - earlier this afternoon... only to realise a few moments later that the script controlling the colorchange was wrong. Still Anna will be out later today or early tomorrow once I've reloaded the vendor.



Needed some cute pigtails rather than just the silly ones. Quite proud of these... particularly as they're relatively low prim (55) and tookme 90 minutes to build from scratch.

Take an axe and run with it...

Exactly what I did...

Added different bangs and a bit of "over the shoulders" stuff, and called it the new Aya... Then made it longer at the back, shorter at the front, and added bangs like on the original Chimera and called it Miko...




Yes I realise this is the second new Aya, but the previous rebuild was suffering from SERIOUS alpha clashes so had to be put down.

OK... some developments... Axe gets a rework... based VERY closely on the original...


New Aya, based on the same bare bones will follow... Finally the blunt ends and non-alpha layers have gone to be replaced with something that actually looks like hair...

How to lose customers and distract people...

Why it never occurred to me is a mystery... but the textures on the new vendors take FOREVER to load... 512x512 is just too big an image size to upload like this, so I'll be downgrading the new vendor images to 128x128 in due course... hopefully people won't have the upload issues then, and still be able to read what's on them.

We'll see...

On a personal note, I'm tied up for a few more days with various RL concerns... Expect me back and working in earnest from the 1st of April

Well... Easter is upon us, and to mark the event, I give you no fewer than ELEVEN new releases this week in the mains Sync store.

Do come see as there's some rather good ones to be had here... all 120L a double, 360 a fat or 980 for the whole 72... well... all except Li, which is 60L a double, 180 a fat and 490 for all...

My name is Jonas...

Every once in a while I divert off the given path and get talked into something different...

Well... that's how Aya, Ryoko and Nariko came about... as well as the orginal Dexter... and it should be fitting then that running across a request for a prim beard in my IMs leads onto a new style...

The requestee... who happens to be called Jonas... hence the hair's name... has been looking for a decent prim beard for a while, and already wears Dexter... well... why not spare him and other the effort and rig the thing p to the hair... so it actually matches..?



This is mt first attempt at a prim beard, so I hope he likes it...

Sometimes you wonder why you try so hard...

I made a discovery this morning...

The Ryoko tinting has created four copies of equally sized hairs, despite being labelled differently... this means I must have created them NOT resized them, cloned them and loaded the vendors yesterday with them all the same.

Now I have to wonder how often I've done this before now... so I have no choice but to check each and every tint again...

I don't know whether to cry or laugh hysterically right now... I'm suspecting it''s just going to be safer to go back and start again with the clone and load.

Either way... news is not all bad. Talks with a friendly skin designer have got me a retone on my current favourite skin (which she implied she may be relaunching at a later date... just so you know...) which I'll be using to advertise a very specific range of products... Furthermore, Jeela Juran of Boingo (see the blogroll) has agreed to make the shirt I need to complete the look; which just leaves me to sort the hair.

And what is this you may ask?

Well to come clean, I've been spending a lot of my time playing Guitar Hero 3, and have fallen quite hard for the look of Judy Nails - one of the characters... and her hair is right up my alley; so I thought I'd make a start at bringing it in-world...along with the hair designs for the rest of them... Johnny Napalm is already more or less in the bag with the reworking of DDL and the new TW1, and the rest will doubtlessly follow in time.

Yes... Next big project once the shop is refitted... Guitar Hero hair!
